Dr. Tan Poh Kok graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1991 with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees (MBBS). He obtained his post-graduate qualification from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecology (United Kingdom) in 1998.
Dr. Tan was a Senior Consultant at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Singapore General Hospital (SGH), one of the biggest, regionally-renowned JCI-accredited hospitals in Singapore.
Dr. Tan achieved Specialist Accreditation with the Ministry of Health Singapore and the Singapore Medical Council in 2001.
Besides providing care for pregnant women as well as general gynaecological (also known as gynae) services, Dr. Tan has a special interest in the field of Uro-gynaecology, a sub-speciality dealing with female pelvic floor disorders such as womb prolapse and urinary incontinence (involuntary urinary leakage)
In 2005, Dr. Tan received the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Fellowship Award in Uro-gynaecology & Pelvic Floor Reconstruction Surgery and pursued his advanced sub-speciality training in Uro-gynaecology in Melbourne, Australia.
Upon return from his advanced training, Dr. Tan was appointed Co-director of Pelvic Floor Disorder Service at Singapore General Hospital and was instrumental in the development of numerous in-house patient education pamphlets and protocols and clinical guidelines for managing women with

- uterine and vaginal prolapse (involuntary urinary leakage)
